For "past-deadline" students (fuori corso), "working students," "parents with children under eight years old," "students on maternity leave," "students enrolled in single courses," and "repeating students" (Art. 23 paragraph 9 University Teaching Regulations), it is possible to take exams even during periods designated for classroom or laboratory activities; for students currently in the second year of Master's degrees, final exams can be taken during the winter/spring session (March-May).

Holidays and breaks approved by the Academic Senate are excluded from the aforementioned periods.

For each degree program and for every course, a minimum of 6 exam dates (appelli) are guaranteed throughout the academic year, excluding those reserved for working students, students enrolled for more years than the normal duration of the program ("fuori corso"), parents with children under eight years old, those on maternity leave, those enrolled in transitional single courses, and repeating students, which must be no fewer than 2.

Final exam dates are published on the online exam registration portal.

Syllabi and Exam Programs

“Computer Skills” (3 CFU) are acquired by passing one of the following recommended SAI@UNIPI project modules:

  • Data Management and Analysis (3 CFU)
  • Digital Communication (3 CFU)
  • Digital Publishing (3 CFU)

On the SAI@UNIPI portal, you can find teaching materials, the test calendar, and registration procedures, along with a general overview of SAI teaching modules, educational requirements, and the contact persons and/or structures for students.

PLEASE NOTE

Students who already hold an ECDL certificate can request the recognition of "Computer Skills" credits from the degree program by contacting Prof. Giovanni Rallo.

Recording of SAI@UNIPI Computer Skills CFUs

The recording of credits happens “automatically”; therefore, no entry in the physical student record book is required, only the registration of the "pass" (idoneità) on the Alice portal.

Within 14 days of passing the test, the result should be visible on your online record; otherwise, students are encouraged to contact the Computer Skills Desk.

The Proficiency Test is a test that verifies basic English language skills, with a particular focus on reading comprehension, listening comprehension, and knowledge of grammar and vocabulary. Passing the test grants the 2 required CFUs, but it does not result in the issuance of an official language certificate, as it is a partial assessment that does not evaluate productive skills (speaking and writing). For detailed information on procedures, dates, and registration, please consult the dedicated page on the University of Pisa website: https://www.cli.unipi.it/idoneita-inglese Students who already hold a European Union language certification can request the recognition of "EU Foreign Languages" credits from the degree program by contacting Prof. Silvia Tavarini.

Laboratories are optional activities that students freely choose from those offered each academic year. They are available in all three years, and attendance is strongly recommended, as the topics covered are mandatory content for oral exams and intermediate assessments.

First year
Up to 2 CFU may be chosen from the available laboratories.

Second year
Up to 2 CFU may be chosen from the available laboratories, plus up to 6 CFU of freely chosen activities.

Third year
Up to 4 CFU may be chosen from the available laboratories.

Common pool available (both curricula)

  • Mathematics 0 (1 CFU)
  • The meaning of measurement in agricultural sciences (1 CFU)
  • Plant cytology (1 CFU)
  • Physics 0 (1 CFU)
  • Principles of digitalization in agriculture (2 CFU)
  • Biotechnological applications in agriculture (2 CFU)
  • Water supply in agriculture (2 CFU)
  • Legal laboratory (2 CFU)

Students may distribute them freely across the three-year programme, respecting the maximum credit limits per year.

The 12 elective CFUs (15 for students enrolled before A.Y. 2025/2026) can be acquired through:

  • additional language skills (level higher than B1 for a language already used, or any level for a different language). Acquired skills must be documented by appropriate certification. Exam certifications issued by accredited international language institutes are also considered valid for the acquisition of CFUs;
  • elective exams chosen from the Departmental or University educational offerings (subject to approval by the RAD Commission);
  • additional seminar activities (exceeding those required by the study plan);
  • internship activities (optional internship) to be carried out at private companies, university facilities, public administrations, or professional firms;
  • laboratory extension to be carried out at public or private facilities;
  • ECDL Full certificate

Among the elective CFUs, a 3-CFU module introducing the 2030 Agenda and Sustainable Development Goals will be recognized. To register, please fill out the following FORM.

To request accreditation for the ECDL Full certificate (elective activity, 2 CFUs) or additional language skills (elective activity, 3 CFUs), a copy of the documentation must be submitted.

Before being taken, elective exams (elective activities) must receive approval from the RAD Commission. The request must be submitted exclusively electronically using the form downloadable from the Degree Course website and sent to: giovanni.caruso@unipi.it.

FILL OUT the application for elective exams

Students wishing to undertake the activities listed below must follow the instructions provided. Active seminars (1 CFU): seminars carried out within one of the courses of the Bachelor's Degree Programme in Agricultural Sciences and therefore certified by the instructor responsible for the course. Laboratory extension (25 hours = 1 CFU): activities to be carried out within the courses included in the Agricultural Sciences study plan. In this case as well, the activity is certified by the instructor responsible for the course. The APPLICATION FORM must be submitted to the Degree Programme Chair and signed by both the responsible instructor and the student. Registration of CFUs: when applying for the registration of CFUs (after enrolling for the relevant exam session through the exam portal), the student must submit all documentation required for credit recognition to Prof. Giuseppe Conte. The submitted documentation must clearly indicate the student's First Name, Last Name, Student ID Number, Year of Enrollment, seminar title, date, and the number of CFUs to be recognized. The 3-CFU Seminars (course code 030ZW under DM270 regulations) may also be completed under the same procedures and will continue to be recorded by Prof. Giuseppe Conte.
Before starting the final project activity: For students enrolled in Bachelor's degree programmes from the 2017/2018 academic year onwards, submission of a written dissertation is no longer required. For further information regarding the final examination, please refer to the Regulations. To begin the final project activity, students are strongly advised to contact their chosen supervisor at least two months in advance. In order to graduate, the candidate must submit:
  • Application to start the final project through the DiSAAA-a Atlante Portal at least 30 days before the start date of the Bachelor's degree graduation session. If this deadline is not respected, the student WILL NOT BE ALLOWED TO GRADUATE and will be postponed to the next available graduation session.
  • Graduation application through the Alice Portal within 30 days before graduation.
  • Application for registration to the graduation session through the DiSAAA-a Atlante Portal, no later than 15 days before the start date of the chosen graduation session.
Mandatory requirements with the Student Administration Offices (Largo Pontecorvo) No later than 15 days before the start date of the chosen graduation session, students must fulfil the requirements of the Student Administration Offices (Largo Pontecorvo), available at this link. Before submitting the required documentation, candidates must carefully verify that they have obtained all the ECTS credits required to access the graduation session. They should therefore cross-check their paper transcript and electronic transcript. In case of discrepancies, they must immediately contact the Student Administration Offices (Largo Pontecorvo) so that the necessary checks can be carried out. It is also essential to carefully follow all instructions provided and complete the entire procedure through the Alice Portal (including submission of the ALMALAUREA questionnaire and upload of the university transcript booklet).
